I didn't expect this, but this game was the journey I needed at this time in my life. Genuinely one of the best games I've played to date. I will not elaborate: play the game, see for yourself.

This is the game that I remember the original Silent Hill 2 to be, on the PS2 20 or whatever years ago. I never wanted to go back to play that, so I am very glad that this held up to what it would have been in my mind.
