A vast improvement in mechanics over POE1. But, I think POE1's story was better written and more interesting. Although the characters in POE2 were better I think. I would play them both for different reasons.

If you are new to CRPGs and are looking for good RPG games, you probably won't like CRPGs. I grew up on Morrowind and KOTOR and I can not get into these games.

Overall, it is a good game. If you like DND, you should try it.
